Greetings, is the so called cam chain+ tensioner simply a timing chain kit or? I ordered one and not sure is that it. I got the chain and the tensioner. Whenever I type cam chain kit it gives me timing chain results instead.
This might be a completely dumb question, but how can I find out which chain (which revision?) I have to get for my 1.2?
I checked OEMEPC for timing chain OEM numbers and 03F109158K is for engines made up to 06.11.2011 and 03F109158G is for engines made from 07.11.2011 and up.
What's the...
Hello I think I’ve got a classic coolant leak so will hazard a guess that I need a water pump. Obviously I will get it looked at by a mechanic before replacing it.
I know usually people say that you might as well change a cam belt when you change the water pump. I don’t seem to be able to find...
Hi everyone,
I have owned my Ibiza cupra since about December but started experiencing problems with the car in January. The car would misfire very 20 miles or so. As it wasn’t a huge problem I carried on driving and eventually bought myself a code reader that said cylinder 3 misfire. Cleaned...

In short for the last 3 months my 2001 Seat Leon Cupra ( 180) has started rattling on startup. Muffled when cold with more of a whir like a pully isnt happy about being turned and much more clattery when warm. The hotter the louder the...
Hi Guys,

my timing chain slipped again today which was extremly dissapointing as it is a brand new chain :( the car is missfiring and only revs up to 3k, however sometimes the problem will pass over and the car works fine for a short spell. i took it down to a garage today and they said to check the...

As per the title really. Wanting to know if the 1.8T Cupra uses a cambelt, which requires changing at 60k or if it uses a timing chain thats good for 120k.
My mates booked in for cambelt doing, but been told by a local SEAT dealership, that its on a timing chain, and deosnt require changing...
I have a 2000 Toledo v5 (150bhp). Couple of weeks ago I started the engine up and it sounded terrible - as if it was badly miss-firing. I took it to my local garage who eventually told me it was probably the timing chain slipping and that it was very slack. They also said it would be more than...
I picked up my 2007 (07 reg) Seat Ibiza 1.2 Reference Sport last Tuesday.
The car has 14000 miles on the clock and I love it, great car.
One thing I didn't know however was the timing chain slipping issue on the 1.2 engines.
Does anyone know if SEAT actually resolved this issue. The...
Have written to Watchdog regarding the problem a lot of us have had with the timing chain slipping on the 1.2 Ibiza engine during a service. This appears to be quite a common occurance and I urge everyone to write to Watchdog with their stories and how much it has cost you. Hopefully after...
