0-100 LCR with Revo Trial

Gave it a go today as I have the Revo trial on (have no comparison to standard, but once it runs out i'll try again).
Did a couple of runs, both obviously affected by wheelspin at start on a fairly crap surface, but a good flat straightish run, with T/C off, as always.
First run, too much wheelspin (too high revs at start) was 14.1, second run with lower revs, good start and perfect changes, 13.1.
I started stopwatch as soon as I started moving, and stopped it at 100 indicated (factor in the 5% speedo over-reading, maybe add half a second - I say maybe as the way it flew past 100 was quick), it's a sub 14 0-100 in anyone's book.
Any good, or to be expected?

You need more accurate timing gear to be sure. I would think a 0-100mph in roughly 14-14.5secs would be normal with 14.5sec qtrs at 100mph give a take a little.

It should let you entertain most of the Scoobs kicking about to a certain level.

I 'entertained' a 320 bhp Sti last week down the 444 from Cov to Beduff, thats was when i was standard.
Power is nothing without delivery - i.e a cr@p driver will always be so, a good un will always get the best out of the car - I surprised mr 320bhp, though he crept past at 125 - he had it by a nose, but giving away 100bhp I was OK with that.

Do you notice much difference with the REVO trial...?? I am going to try that next week, to see if it makes much difference to mine.

The difference is noticeable, not greatly so. I think the additional accelleration is deceptive, and not easy to judge, so i'll be doing the 0-100 next week when the 5hrs runs out. I guess though it make at least 2 secs difference to 100.

E-maps sounds most attractive at the moment at £300, as good as the best power claims and good service according to what i've heard. Also I get the impression it can be tailored to your needs, as opposed to a wholly generic map.

The remap has surprised me by not making the car a whole lot less controllable - the chassis manages it perfectly, makes you wonder why it wasn't made that way in the 1st place. i think thats why it doesn't 'seem' as quick as I thought it would, but probably is.

had the revo trial myself at big boys toys, to start you dont notice a huge dif but after an hour or so you really do notice the dif its the low end that its noticed more as opposed to the top end, i have the 180bhp and with revo think it went to about 210bhp had fun on the way home def thinking bout it big style...

Revo took a second off my 0-60 time which is nice off the lights.

I diddn't really notice a massive difference at first. The main thing I notice now is that there are very few cars that can stay with me when the traffic clears in the outside lane of the M1. Before Revo I had trouble getting away from loads of stuff. (although a pair of 911s left me for dead on Friday night, I might as well have been in Fred Flintstones car!)

Yes, when I had it RRed after Revo I did have a faulty N75, that may have meant a lower than expected figure.

i f%£"king hate free trials but love them to been out in the country lanes thrashing it about and when i had revo it was wow.. no its gone seems like im driving my old cavalier turbo diesel im sure they give you these things to wet your pants.. well its worked got to get revo now otherwise i'll go mad with wanting more power more i tell ya more!!

Yep, they don't do it as a favour, pure marketing ploy - I guess most other remappers will follow suit pretty soon. Maybe one day there'll be hundreds of remappers all offering free trials, enabling us to get a new one every week.

The Revo trial is good, but I guess most other maps are similar, though Revo seems to have the best back-up, and biggest company.

The only thing with revo is it's totally generic, Jabba will map to your taste, and I think E-Maps can tailor the map to some extent, depending on preferences (I think anyway - anyone with more knowledge please feel free to correct me). A more tailored map would suit me in that I would hope not only to get more power at full throttle, but better cnsumption to offset the cost at normal driving. I am hoping Emaps, which is £250 cheaper than Revo, can get equal or better power but tailored to what I need. May chek with Jabba too, see if they have any deals.

It in essentially generic but there are some variables to allow for taste. If you are not planning to get an SPS3 then the Revo dealer is able to set various parameters at remap time. I went for an agressive super unleaded only program.

If a remap can give me power (smoothly delivered) - they all seem to goive similar (260-275bhp), reliability, customer service and aftercare, AND better fuel consumption when I drive slowly, then it ticks all the boxes. They all seem to give power, not sure on any for the fuel consumption, and not sure on customer care, so the cheapest will win. And so far, thats E-Maps.

so obviously revo being talked about very much and haven't heard many complaints about them its just so annoying that their's so many out there, who do you trust, who does the best work and who is the best value for money, it really is mad to go who you think is the best as so much choice its like a pick and mix store

i listened to too many people when buying my original revo, and was unhappy.

Borrowed ECU;s off people with various chips, and all run better than revo did on exactly the same car..

Just go for which you feel right with, but dont jump in, look at torque graphs, its not all about bhp

yeo i dont see any point in trying something you have no intention of buying, it will make you feel worse than if you didnt try it
