Hi guys i have just got an 04 cupra r going to an oil change just wondered what every one is using in theirs and if any are better than others.
was thinkin castrol edge 0w40 sport or 10w60
Mobil 1 0w40
or anyone recommend anything better
cheers:think:

My local dealer recommended 10w 40 semi-synthetic oil but I've read on here that a better bet is something like a 5w 30 fully-synthetic as it offers better cold weather protection and is more suited to the 1.8T engine and its 20v head (something to do with the oil being thinner and small drainage holes in the engine etc)...

My next service is due soon and I will be replacing the current 10w 40 oil with a 5w 30 fully synth.

My dealer also supplied 10w 40 quantum and said it was standard oil for car [LC]

You seem to get a different answer on every thread about it on here :cartman:
