if it fits then chances are its a universal filter, could always put it on and see what happends?
Just been to my car, took the engine cover off, and found that it can't be placed back if there will be a cone filter on it. This doesn't bother me on the looks aspect but there is a pipe running to the cover, what would i do with this after i fit a cone?

that pipe is just a breater pipe, you could leave it off, or you can get very small air filters to go on there.

I meant on a seat ibiza mate, sorry if it wasn't clear!
I was thinking of making the cone fit with the engine cover on (hacking a bit off the edge etc.) as it looks awful without the plastic cover. This would aslo let me leave the breather pipe stuck to the plastic engine cover!

yeah mate but them small look alike K&n filters you can put over the hole were the breather pipe is ment to go on the engine 
whats better to get a cone filter or a pannel filter ? what would be the difference ? all i want is my seat ibiza to stop sounding like a milk float, and dont really want to get an exhaust pipe ?
thats exactly what I want mate, I think that there is no real difference, but a cone filter is cheaper, and would give a more sportier sound IMO?
I just want photos of how others have fitted theirs.

honestly couldnt say mate, i think panel filters are better for performance. just shot a cone on, pick up a universal one for about 25pound or so
just leave the airbox/engine cover off. ill find you a picture of what someone else has done on theirs.

i was looking and like you can get a good pannel filter for like 30 quid its a k and n one .. however it doenst make much sound .. just added performance .. but i dont have a clue .. i think i will buy one from halfords and see how i get on with that really ..

Fair enough, and I guess if I wanted to sell the car, I'd still have a full/unmolested engine cover to put back instead of the filter!
