Hi all

My wifes 2002 1.2 Ibiza does very low milage each year. Its only on 33000 now. It had a full serivce last May which included, spark plugs, oil, oil filter, air filter. In the last 15 months, she's clocked up a whopping 3200 miles!

Is there an opinion on whether it should be serviced once per year, or only at the 10,000 mile interval that the computer flags up?

My gut feeling is that it should be done once per year to keep the oil sweet etc.I'd be interested as to what others think.

Cheers

i personally would do it every year even if you havent done that many miles, keep your engine sweet. especially the 1.2 as it has to be pushed

you could get away with a few months if you want to be lazy (due to the small milage) but i wouldnt recommend it

Yep. As all above. The engine oil degrades over 12 months between services and is made to last so. Only long life engine oil made to go up to 20k miles or 24 months before ditching. Dont get caught out by only doing oil services all the time. Spark plugs, air filter etc all have a life span and should be changed at Seat recommended intervals, regardless of low mileage.

Get Autodata :p

Its dependant on mileage obviously, but anything under 10,000 apparently is ever 10'000 miles a service.

But autodata tells you what to change & what to check at each service.

Its very detailed.

Not sure if Seat recommend all these checks it mentions?
