1.2 tsi air filter

Has anyone got an air filter fitted to their 1.2 tsi? I've put one on all the cars I've had in the past but I've not got one for the ibiza yet.

I was just driving the other day and in 2nd/3rd gear I almost thought I could hear the turbo making a whoosh noise when accelerating so I was thinking an air filter would make it even louder! (Assuming I never imagined it)

Before anyone says I know performance gain is minimal if anything and with an open cone filter heat soak might even reduce performance.

K&N is what I have in mine

I've fitted a open cone on my 1.2tsi and sounds cool as hell. You can hear is sucking in air and also the turbo more.

That's exactly the response I was hoping for!

What one you got?

I'm not after a fancy brand like K and N, had them before and they're not worth the extra money unless they're enclosed which obviously takes away from the sound.

Got the pipercross cone from Halfords on mine. Removed air box alltogether.

Going to upgrade the forced air intake and get some more air flowing.

Edit: looks just the same as your apart from bottom half of air box is out and the filter is red.

I just bought universal k and n from ebay, the neck size should fit the ibiza perfect though. It was only £28 from a business seller with loads more in stock!

Yupp that's the official K&N one for it but it's only gonna go inside your air box so I don't know if it'll make much difference but it depends what you want. It will save you a tenner in a service I suppose lol
