Anybody else had this? Accelerating off a roundabout a few weeks back I lost power and had the EPC light come on. Limped off the dual carriageway at about 25mph onto a side road to sulk. Switched off whilst I thought about it and then re-started. EPC light gone, car operating normally.

Main dealers downloaded fault codes associated with fuelling on cylinders 1 & 4, cleared them and couldn't duplicate the fault. " See if it happens again" . . . . etc

And it did - a couple of days ago, exactly the same symptoms. The car is a 2011 model and I was assured that the 'duff injector' problem didn't apply to 1.2TSi's.

So, I'd be very interested to know if has anybody else had similar problems and whether they found a solution.

As for the clutch judder on the DSG box, don't get me started - I'm going to get them to look at that too . . . again.

No, my Feb. 2011 manual SE continues to run like a dream.

Was it you that had the dodgy coilpack? Were the symptons the same? I seem to recall we discussed the system of using one coil for two cylinders and I subsequently found out that was indeed how it works.

Only trouble I've had is that the petrol gauge refused to hit the top mark after a refill on one occasion. I guessed it was the float sticking - hasn't recurred.

Hi NM - yes that was me with the coilpack problem - they replaced it and a couple of HT leads and it seemed OK after that.

The symptoms are pretty much the same except that it is preceeded by a loss of acceleration which then develops into the limp-mode and EPC light activation. Initially I thought it might be some sort of boost problem.

The fundamental difference is that a shut-down and re-start clears the EPC light and all is normal again. The fault gets logged in the ECU memory but of course they clear that after teh diagnostics.

On reflection, it has happened when accelerating away after exiting a roundabout on both occasions. It's going in on the 8th and the loan car is going to be the same, so I'll have a chance to compare.

As for your float problem, didn't somebody else report that too? I just wish that they had got the law right on the fuel gauge and often wonder whether the software guys were assuming a Lin law pot and the engineers fitted a Log law in front of the D to A instead!
