Hi lads, today i was driving my 1.2 tsi it have about 19k on the clock and when i tried to had a go since the road were clear it started like popping from the exhaust & knocking, it does it mostly from 3rd gear onwards after about 2k revs,
i'm thinkin it's a turbo problem or a boost leak, anyone had this problem before? my car it's not remapped yet and im goin to take it to the dealers but i want to have a second opinion

Sounds like it's over fuelling on a cylinder, can you make it do it all the time? Or was it a one time thing?

That seems to be more common on the 1.2 TSI than it should be. There are reports of failures on Skodas I've seen and znww5 on here has gone through more than one IIRC. At least it seems they can be bought for not too much money.

Did I hear my name? :)

My problem (on a 2011 1.2TSi) was that the rubbish quality HT leads were shorting across, especially in the wet, and that was killing the ignition packs.

It took SEAT 3 attempts, but the fix was to change all the HT leads, route them away from main heat sources and fit corrugated plastic tubes over them. No trouble since, but I believe there was a TPI for arcing between HT leads.

I still can't believe they fitted such trashy leads to a brand new car!
