you might aswell just count 1... one thousand, 2.... one thousand, 3... one thousand...

it will be just as accurate! ;)

if they are set up correctly then they usually provide a close time. howver they are really ment for the same car so you can improve your technique of launching.

the times i stated for my 306 hdi(with about 118bhp) (16.5) was achieved at york drag way in may (uk open nationals) NOT with the stopwatch on my phone, with my mate dave timing!

I never said the 206 was std, although was a driving intruction car with dual controls,!lol it had a about 1ks worth of tuning including a custom re-map+ bromleys fuel pressure box!, toms time were full interior also(at avon park for his best from memory), but it is now sold for the fabia RS as i stated earlier

ps 206 was about 150 bhp give or take

so, who would be up for abit of 1/4 mile, or just a meet so i can see a few leons at york / santa pod etc! i hate talking on the internet, much rather discuss things face to face!!

agreed, the ap22 etc, when set up, are accurate, we set the and calibrate them against the timing gear at york! once set, they are correct every time, also seem to run true with the vBox timing gear used at brunters by PGTI mag!

I always prefer the "1 potato, 2 potato" method of timing.

My standard Leon Cupra will do the 1/4 mile in less than 10 seconds that way.

Stevo.

Disclaimer: Timings and distance travelled my vary depending on mood of driver.

Hi all I am new to the forum, this is my first post.

I bought a 2001 leon cupra which I collect tomorrow and I'm looking at the 1/4 mile times as it will be taking over from my Volvo 850 estate which I take to Santa pod. Now in my 850 which had 250bhp pretty much standard bar a k&n filter and 1 bar boost I ran 15.01 with all interior and standard Pirelli tyres that car as you can imagine weighed a lot and I'm looking at time for the leon cupra and they seem slower than I would expect.

Being experienced in front wheel drives I can't see why people strip the interior without first stiffening the rear suspension as when you pull away you need the rear springs compressed to prevent the car sagging back and taking traction and weight off the front end. I know it sound backwards but if you want a good time. In front wheel drive and you haven't stiffened the suspension you should leave the weight in or you may actually loose time.

My new leon has front mount, cobra exhaust ko3s turbo and induction kit so once I map as this isn't done yet I should be looking at around 220 bhp I guess, what times should I expect?

I will be at the pod this sat for the vw rwyb so ill post the pre remap times Sunday anyway.
