Just wondered if anyone else has experienced the same problems as I'm having.

To begin with I have a 1.4 TSi which is just over 6 months old and has done 4500 miles. After 2500 miles the engine management light came on and was reset at the dealers. About 1000 miles later, it was back on. So I booked it in again but it went off before they could see it, so I was told it wouldn't be worth taking it in as I would most likely be wasting my time.

Now, it's really struggling on tickover jumping between 500 and 1500 revs, almost stalling when idling. Also when you do press the "Go" pedal, it hesitates, doing nothing before surging away as though nothing has happened and then hesitates again when the revs drop as you change gear.

I have noticed right from the day I bought it, when it does idle properly, touch the accelerator and it jumps to 1500, not smooth like any other car I have driven.

It's booked back in for Friday, if it makes it as far as my local dealers!

Any thoughts?

Keeby.

when my Cupra was in for its last service i was speaking to the service manager about injector problems on the Cupra engines and he told me , the only engines they have had majors problems with are the 1.4's he rekons for every 2.0 tfsi with problems he gets 5 1.4's :(

your car sounds like it has some of the same problems as mine, albeit im a 2.o tfsi.

Its going in on thursday so will let you know what they say.

Had the AA come out this morning through SEAT Assistance. Car was running as rough as a dog, the conclusion drawn was that the Airflow meter or Boost pressure sensor is faulty.

Disconnected it and it's running much better. At least I'll be able to drive it to the dealers.
