I have one, the engine is pretty economical. I regularly get 45MPG on long motorway cruises and its good to drive very refined. I wouldn't call it a performance car but it does have plenty of torque.

I greatly prefer it over my old Ibiza FR TDI and it drives a lot better than the 1.6 petrol or 1.9 TDI Leon.

Interested to hear that - I have been running mine for three weeks now and am VERY pleased with it. The torque is excellent and the car seems very economical as well. My previous car was an Alfa 147 with the 2 litre engine and in no way am I disappointed with the Leon's performance in comparison. I'm sure you will enjoy yours!

I bought a standard Reference Sport in red with the sports suspension deleted — I'm sick of being bounced around on the potholes here in the South West. According to my dealer most are being sold like that.
I went for the Leon because after running the Alfas I still wanted something a little 'different', but cheaper to run with decent 'real-world' performance, and as I said above I'm delighted so far.
