This did not make my day ive got a 1.5tsi 150 EVO. I thought the only big failure to expect was the DSG gearbox. The video clip points to plasma protected aluminium bores as another major failure point.
I've heard of this issue before but not on the 1.5tsi, it was on larger VW engines. To be honest, I think it's outrageous. This is cost cutting gone insane and VW clearly do not care about long term durability at all. I had already accepted that 100k miles is a realistic limit for a modern car but it seems that even that might be optimistic. My Leon has just ticked over 100k and it'll be going soon.
