I have one local and was tempted until he told me no obd access for live tuning yet so it’s an ECU out job and do it on the bench.Has anyone actually gone to a rolling Road tuner to see what can be done? P torque and AMD technik used to be good.
I can confirm that. Programming via OBD was unavailable.I have one local and was tempted until he told me no obd access for live tuning yet so it’s an ECU out job and do it on the bench.
Yeah that’s what my local chap said...I’m just a bit funny when it comes to taking ECU out...looks like you got good results though!I can confirm that. Programming via OBD was unavailable.
But no need to open-up the ECU(remove glue sealing). ECU was removed from the car, and progammed on the bench using the ECU pinout.
Yeah it can be done apparently...it’s just the whole taking the ECU out of the car I’m really not keen on.Also www.performance-centre.co.uk have places across the country that will do rolling road maps for this engine. They will do my 1.4tsi for £299 at the mo as they are doing 100 off. Would imagine its similar for the 1.5.
I can get the SLT map (1.5 shown in previous post) for my car for £250 locally or from the same place a rolling road custom map for £375 which seems the going rate for my car.
Who knows? I hope so. It would be great to know for all those with the engine and for people like me who might want one in the future. Unfortunately unless more people on forums like this get it done we won't know. Ive not seen any postings of the 1.5tsi getting custom tuned on any Google search. Same for the 1.4tsi. I just stumbled across the above dyno when looking at rolling road tuning in Sussex and EST were one of those google listed and I went through loads of photos on their Facebook page.193bhp is very respectable, can they map out the kangaroo symptoms though
Yes indeed I’m just a bit funny about taking out a very expensive piece incase it all goes wrong...which I know could happen in-situ also but after previously using a bluefin I was happy with that...to be honest I’m not sure what’s involved in removing the ECU...maybe I’m worrying about nothing. What is that worries you about the ecu? I'm pretty sure that was the original way of doing maps before obd was used.
