Hi

I have been running a 1.6 DSG Altea XL for 6 month now and I am seeing an average of 37mpg, with around 56mpg being the best on an A road/motorway run, 50/60 mph. Just wondering what a 2.0ltr DSG returns?

The brochure lists 64.2mpg (1.6ltr) vs 60.1mpg (2.0ltr), but in real life?

Could it be the smaller engine has to work harder and so has a worse mpg?

For the 2.0ltr guys are the steering mounted paddles of any use? I have used the gear lever in manual control of the 1.6ltr and the cars computer stops it from changing up or down, so I drive in auto only.

No paddles on 2.0. The mpg is worse than stated. I just did 65 mph motroway run 4 up and struggled to get 40mpg. Did 200 miles m/way trip in summer in 1.6 golf and got much much better mpg even at 80+. But then you don't get the performance

Hi

Steering wheel mounted paddle shift controls 2.0 TDI only with the DSG gearbox are listed as standard in the 2011/2012 year brochures.

Was just wondering if they are any good, as the cars computer holds back on shifting untill it thinks its OK.
