Hello SEAT friends!

Just wondering how can I increase few HPs to my Toledo's 1.8 20v engine which currently has 130 bhp ...want to make it close to 160bhp with out replacing any major part. Can a VAG-COM tweek or ECU remapping could do the trick? If yes...it wouldn't damage the engine would it? I need sincere advise on how to increase some horsepower with major part upgrade which can cost more!

Try posting in the toledo section mate. Is it normally aspirated or turbo? Your forum name suggests turbo but the power suggests not?

Hi there mate, no mine is 1.8 20v naturally aspirated 130 bhp with automatic transmission, in the Gulf SEATs come is automatic transmission as standard, there are manual as well but not in majority. My name adds 20vt due to my love for the turbos
so any hope for my 1.8 20v engine ?

as it already been dyno'd at 130bhp ? only way i see you getting close to 160 is from uprated cams and remap , 2.25" bore exhaust with de cat and better intake , which to be fare won't see much change back from £1000-£1400

I'm with cupramad, has it actually been dyno'ed at 130BHP? You might find you've lost a few over the years, and the first performance mod you can do is to get it back to 130.

Having said that, I was happy my V5 had only lost 4 horses and 4lbft of torque in ten years, that was from a dyno run.
