ben, are those stainless hose clamps any good? you reckon they would be any good on an exhaust instead of the U shaped clamps? just want something that looks better on a stainless exhaust rather than rusty U clamps!

For anyone contemplating a .86 hotside over a .64 on a 1.8T GT2871R then deffinitely think twice!

Got the new hotsided turbo on and its incredible. Theres too much difference between the two in my eyes with respect to power delivery to even consider the .86 now...

Might have been a costly upgrade to the .64 but its deffinitely worth it in the long run i reckon :)

Now mapping time

Don't wana hear that sort of thing, haha how much earlier do you think boost comes on, I assume you're not losing power top end either?

Dayumm... yea its a massive difference, just the way the power is fed in really its more progressive and just generally better to drive with. Like if youre cruising and put your foot down the .86 used to just do nothing until boom it all comes in at once, the .64 at least gives you a feel of pull from the moment youre foot hits the floor...
Top end i couldnt tell you yet as im still on a map for a smaller turbo so not nailing it to the limiter...

Was wondering what happened to this car! The feature on it was awesome as is the car!

Thanks mate, just been put on the back burner a bit as of late just with work, weather and what not! Certainly isnt dead tho :D

Haha I do quite like the unexpected boost you get with the .86 though. Passengers are still suprised ;)

Have you got a built head? My .86 is still on full boost when I hit the limiter so was wondering if the .64 would be running out of puff towards the top end of a built head, maybe 8000rpm? Something I haven't looked into just wondering if you knew.
