1.8 Ibiza GTi questions

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

After completely distroying my first Ibiza (worst thing I have ever done) I'm looking to get a new one. I have found a 1.8 Ibiza GTi which the bloke is advertising as a 16v (there are no pics of the engine). However all the signals are making it look 8v; silver 5 spoke wheels, GTi badge instead of a 16v GTi badge, standard 8v spoiler and so on. My question to you is did seat ever make a 1.8 8v? The car is a 1996 n reg mk2.

Also, is there anything to look for to bring the price down. I'm fully aware of the brilliant pedalbox problem (happened to my last one, it riled me haha) but apart from that?

sounds like an early 2.0 8v gti.
Lift the bonnet,the 16v inlet has DOHC 16V on it.

not even sure seat did a 1.8 8v at all in the ibiza but i might be wrong.

the 1.8 16v came as standard with the 8v spoiler and 5 spoke alloys. although all my badges have 16v gti on them. the 1.8 16v came about inbetween the facelift so doesnt have the same stuff as the 2.0 16v.
