Hi everyone

I currently own a 2001 cupra. Its got a dynatwist induction kit, forge dump valve (hoping to get teh splitter one soon) and revo.

I'm looking to up the power a bit more but don't really want to make the car unreliable or not usable as a daily drive. Any sugestions? I was thinking of putting a milltek exhaust and then put a revo stage 2 on it - what kinf of powers will be looking at? Also if i was to upgrade the turbo which one would be the best to buy?

Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated.

Stage two would really, in my opinion need a fmic to cope with the extra heat in the charge coming through the turbo, a stage 1 remap will make the car feel a lot more eager through the gears. If you wanted more than 230-240 bhp you would have to upgrade the turbo, the easiest to swap in is the atp eliminator series of turbos, they start from around 700 quid from america and are a straight fit. Its a can of worms to be honest mate, you could read pages of info and still not know the whole picture on possibilities.

The trouble is you've already got near the top of your cars capabilities in terms of power. You might be able to squeeze another 10bhp or so out of it, but the cost of doing that is going to be far greater than the benefits it will bring.

Stage 2 is the obvious next choice, but you'll need a turbo back exhaust system including down pipe and sports cat and ideally a FMIC. Then there is the £50 upgrade that Revo charge to go to Stage 2, which takes the grand total up to well over £1200 and all for what? Another 10bhp if you're lucky. From then on you really are at the limit of your current turbo, so no more power is possible without changing that.

My honest opinion is change the car. Put it back to standard, sell the parts, and buy something quicker as standard. The insurance cost alone of all the parts and work needed will be much higher than a standard equivalent. It gets to the point where it's just not worth it, unless you have money to burn.

So basically ure saying is to sell mine and get like a cupra r if i want more power. In that case i'll probably just finish it by sticking a milltek exhaust cat back system and finish the outside of. Keep the car for a year and then get either the cupra r or the new cupra.

What exhaust do u guys recommend? i would like the oval tailpipe but i've only seen magnex that does them and i'm not keen on magnex. I like milltek but its another twin pipe.

What I'm saying is you're soon going to hit the limit of your turbo. Once you get to your stage, the power Vs pound ratio looks nasty. You spend a fortune trying to squeeze out every last drop of power and you're just not getting good value for money. If big power is what you want, go for a car with it as standard, or at least a car able to be modified to give that sort of power.

As for exhausts... Blueflame offer an oval tailpipe that's quite nice looking :)
