I've whacked my boost gauge on, and i'm getting the same readings as other people with the same engine, and their engine's are fine...
if i floor it in say 3rd or 4th, it spikes to (at most) 1.5 bar then settles back down and holds a constant 1bar all the way up to the limiter

This has changed my beliefe of how the car's performing. I think it's now actually fine, just when i picked it up it must have been overboosting like buggery cos it went like stink, at less than two dozen over three figures i took my foot off the power and she was still going strong before i did-so

I've tapped my boost gauge feed half way along the plastic pipe between the intercooler and the EGR valve (just infront of the PAS fluid reservoir)

Happy days

i had a problem with my hybrid turbo i changed every thing fluctuating boost under boost over boost.....not it boosts fine over 2.6k but under that it over fuels like mad....
my vac pump i belive is knackered thus not allowing turbo to work as it should giving over fuelling.....
i hope my new vac pump will sort this problem out and ill have my torque back

You still not sorted this Karl?

You can have the right amount of boost and not enough diesel and be down on power.....

How do i turn up the fuel pump on an AVS engine?
vag com does show me the injected quantity, but off the top of my head i cant remember what the figure is, but will check it as soon as i can.

I have the mechanical pump btw

im fitting the new vacume pump friday or saturday maz then i hope all will be well....its down on vacume and reading from other forums a few people have had erratic boost readings from the same problem....on other tdis the vac has read 30 psi on idle mine only hits 30 psi when revved to 2.6k (when the ca functions) so must be vac pump

Hi Guys

New to this forum. My first post. Wahey :D

I got a slight problem with my 1.9 Leon TDi Mk1 and was wondering if anyone could help. I recentley had my cambelt changed and ever since, the car has not been pulling as it used to. Straight after the belt was changed there was hardly any power coming from the car at all.

I got the mechanic who did the belt to check out the problem. He said it was just a loose vacuum pipe from the actuator to the egr and was sorted

Although the performance has improved, its still not as it was before and there is hardly any pull. Can anbody tell me where this pipe actually is and if it could be anything else causing this loss of power.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers!

I got it changed at a local garage. I didnt want to pay 600+ quid to main dealer!! He changed the timing belt on my previous Golf GT TDI so i figured he would do a good job :S Do you reckon the belt was done properly? Car runs smooth, idles well etc. Its just the lack of torque!!

Thanks

Maybe worth them getting to check the injection pump timing if you have one, is your car a 90 110 130 or 150hp?. The gt tdi does not have an injection pump so is in effect easier to do the belt on as one less pulley to worry about.

Its a 90BHP. He said he did a diagnostic on it and came up with a faulty actuator vacuum pipe :S

Any idea where this is and what it looks like?
