Plugged in vagcom and this code come up and I've also no indicator when I turn right on the dash.. Flashes on the outside of the car and the dash works then turning left. Obviously the actual code is a sensor issue by the downpipe. (requires a special tool) that I don't have and the parts like £65/£75 what else do you think this could be. My exhaust smells like eggs when I boot it. Anyone have any ideas at all before I try a spending £75 for it not to take off the eml light.. I had a powerflow decat added to it as it was decated.

The bulb in the dash could off gone I think there are bulbs but could be a led
As for the o2 sensor not really it’s a case off plug a new one in and hope it fixes it smells like a cat issue with the egg smell

Egg smell is usually from running too rich. The sensor you have a fault with is the second one though, so that sensor doesn't controi fueling. Is there another reason why the car is or has been running rich? Did you have an issue with the pre-cat lambda sensor too?

I've no idea.. I've noticed a smell down by the exhaust manifold when the cars running you can smell it in tween the charge pipe and at the back near where the exhaust manifold is

I think really you need to find someone with the full version of VCDS and then you can run some proper logs and see what if anything is going on. If the car is remapped then it's probably just running rich at full boost for safety, it may just be that which is causing the smell. As for the indicator light on the dash, they are small surface mount LEDs. It could be a wiring issue on the connector, but if it's the LED itself then unless you're amazing with a soldering iron, then they're almost impossible to replace. I'm not 100% sure, but i think under the new MOT rules that would only be a 'Minor' fault on the MOT so would probably pass if you can live with it. Only other options are to have someone repair it or try and get a replacement. Replacement is a pain in the ass as it will need coding to the car, SEAT want over £400 for one too.

The right indicator light went on my dash last year. I guess they burn out because you're sat waiting to turn right a lot across traffic. Looked at replacing it but didn't bother because they're LED. There's videos on YouTube of people swapping the LEDs for different colours. Seemed rather fiddly and I'm not that great with a soldering iron these days.

So left it and crossed my fingers for the next MOT, they didn't say anything about it. Had a feeling it would be okay because the rules only mention a 'tell tale' which can mean a light or the clicking relay. The only exception is the hazard light switch, that needs to light up otherwise it's a MOT fail.

So this this wouldn't fail the MOT for not lighting up? Would be an advisory tho wouldn't it? Also Ross tech says its a heating fault along with the sensor? I may need to check the fuse by the battry see if its that first

As chris said, it should be fine and pass.

As for the lambda, there are 2 parts to each sensor, the heating circuit (to quickly bring the sensor up to it's working temp when you start the car) and the circuit that monitors the exhaust gas. Check fuses and wiring first as you say.

They failed the car on a front ball joint, wasn't an advisory for the indictor light on the dash. Guess it'll depend on the test centre if you'll get an advisory or not.

Don't know much about your error code - mines a TDI. But don't think it'll pass with a check engine light on with the new MOT rules.
