The only way you will truly know is by going and seeing, and test driving it in person. The drive down to see it and back is nothing compared to the mileage you do in the time that you own a car anyway. Just go and see it!

No doubt this will get removed but I am the guy selling this. To clarify , This is a geuine Cupra 2.0TFSi - not a 1.8 as someone made reference to and I have not had the car over a year and a half - that is absolute rubbish- it was still driving round shroshire then. It was left with me last easter by George a friend of mine and its owner, for me to try and sell as he simply wasnt using it (it was a 3rd vehicle for him) and having paid £16k for it from Seat in 2011 with 2.5k miles on and having then run it himself he still owed £12k on it and thought it was a waste to be sat round. I initiallly advertised it for him at £11495 to try and minimise his loss. It has not been accident damaged, it does not have noisy suspension, everything works as should and it is regularly driven by myself on a 15 mile daily commute to keep everything free and in running order. It was not last serviced 1.5 years ago as someone suggested but 6 months and approx 500 miles ago using the correct longlife oil. To help George out I bought it and settled the outstanding finance myself late last year as I believed it to be an exceptional example of a Cupra. An endless procession of dreamers and financially unviable people wanting finance has prevented the car from selling. That is the only reason. Only the local guy from here has actually even been to see it. He turned up and saw the car as it is, no prior prep, no warming up, no excuses from me, with my stuff in the boot from using it the weekend before. Everybody else has been annonymous and never made the effort to view. The car is largely unmarked aside from one or two chips and age related imperfections but certainly no scuffs or scrapes or wear to the interior - as you would/should expect. We can all sit behind keyboards and type meaningless comments and assumptions but the key to buying a car is looking at it and driving it surely. This is a genuine 11k mile Cupra with only Seat and one private owner (since 2011) to date and anybody who is interested in buying, has the means to buy and takes the time to view will find.

Hey chill out fella, no one here was trying to shoot down the sale, actually it was quite the opposite. It's easy to see the car has been there a long time and its also easy for people to suggest to avoid it, but that isn't always the case.

Anyway I recall seeing it there last January on the front but I may be wrong, if indeed you have had it since Easter last year then I wasn't that far off anyway. Also I never said it was serviced 1.5 years ago. The advert has been up for a very long time so unless you edited it to say it has just been serviced then one could assume it was done when you first got it. It might be a good idea to write the date in brackets? :)

If you have been using it then fair enough, I even suggested that you would be doing this in my last post but... You say you use it regularly on your daily commute, but then later say you don't?

Credit to you, you must be a very good friend to commit to buy and pay off the finance on a car that you hadn't been able to shift in 8 months ( providing you got it at Easter and bought in December last year )...

I'm sure everything is genuine and the car is a good one, its just natural that people would ask questions about it, especially due to the length of time you have had a seemingly very desirable car. That's something I can't get my head around.

Anyway bud good luck and I hope you sell it.

P.s this is probably a good PR stunt anyway, are you sure you haven't paid the OP for the post? :D

Oh , btw do you use it under trader plates?

Hi, no problem It was definitely not here January and it was only initially dropped with me at Easter to photograph, drive and advertise. I wont advertise anything (friend or otherwise) that I havnt seen and driven in person. I have known him for a few years and have sold him Evo's and bought a Hayabusa from him but hadnt seen the Cupra for myself. I bought it much later as the car is pretty much immaculate. the mileage is genuine and guaranteed and as I have said there have been dozens of finance requests done via the website but with no one actualy coming to view and all finance applications denied (which is probably why they never bothered to view in the first place??). Initially it was priced too high as the amount outstanding (£12k)was more than the car was worth but the previous owner ultimately got some money together to pay off the negative equity. I do use it regularly but not every day as I have tried to keep the mileage down - it is now over the 11k mark. It was taxed until March 2013 and I have used it on trade plates since. The OP (who has obvioulsy had a change of heart after a dozen emails between us last week and arranging to come Monday which then changed to Wednesday but didnt come in the end) hadnt seen the car but did ask another member to come and look at it for him whose reponse that he would of bought it himself but for a new car on order. The OP was getting a more than fair p/x price of £4000 (he told me in first communications he had been offered £4500 for his p/x elsewhere) bearing in mind he then said on here his best offer had been £2600 unless I have read that wrongly?? Anyway, I have cleared the air and put any 'issues' to bed regarding the car, its condition, mileage, history etc now so will wait for a genuinely interested buyer to come and view/drive the car. Cheers

I know this car has been for sale for some time, when I was looking for mine this time last year I noticed that it was on ebay but was not priced accordingly to other cars on the market so passed it bye.

As others have said you really need to take a look at it yourself, I did two 170 mile round trips to get mine.
