12v switched feed

Does anyone know of a 12v feed around the lights switch that comes on with the ignition (not permanent 12v) and stays active while the car is started? I've seen the boost gauge posts about the blue/grey being able to be used for the dimmer and that the fat red wire is 12v, but is there one that 12v switched and not dimming?

ignition wire under the fuse box

if its the same as the VW range, which im guessing it will be, there should be 4 bolts with wires on them. 2 are permanent live, 1 switched and an earth. use a multimeter to test which ones are which.

ignition off and 2 should show ~12v
1 wont show anything until the ignition is on - got a funny feeling its marked ## X
or use the blue grey wire and have the internal illumination up full
