17 inch alloys on a cupra

just wondering if 17 inch alloys would fit over a cupra's brakes and have any of you track boys down graded to 17s for better handling or stuck to the 18
pics would be good to

Some 17's will fit, the problem is not only the inner diameter of the rim but also space between rim's spokes and calliper.

Some 17,s will fit.
I have 17,s on my Leon which has s3 brakes (same spec as Cupra brakes).
17" Audi a3 sport alloys fit straight over the brakes.
17" Leon sport alloys fit with small spacers when pads and discs are new. Now that the pads have worn down I have been able to remove the spacers.
