As per title really..

I've been talked into going to a few of the shows at Santa Pod this season with a few of my old Ford Fwends, which is obviously gonna lead to a bit of 1/4 mile action.. I'm basically wondering if 17's will clear the front brakes, as I fancy getting some cheap used R888's or something for the strip..

I know you can get them in 18's but they seem much cheaper/easier to come across in 17's

Cheers in advance :)

Factory fit options are

Code:
	Tyre Rim ET
225/45 R 17 91W 7.1/2J x 17 38
225/40 R 18 92Y 7.1/2J x 18 38

But I think you need the original Seat wheels.

Cheers lads. Are the optional 17s for the LCR? I just ask as I've only ever seen them on oem 18s.

To be honest, I reckon I'll see ky mates 180brake mk2 fiesta off on normal road tyres haha

I'd keep the standard wheels on mate. or stay 18. think 17 will make the car look out of proportion

Cheers mate, would only be for the occasional run up the strip this summer, I'd keep the normal hoops on for daily duties

They might. The 18" wheels which are standard on UK models were an option in Europe. European LCRs came with 17"s and I'm sure all LCRs came with Brembos. So if they had 17"s with Brembos over there then they should fit, although it is highly dependant on the wheel in question!

I have the 17" cupra r alloys as winter rims. Even the Brembo GT had not issues(a bit wider than the Seat Sport)

perfect!!;)

maybe did you measured the weight of one alloy too??

i forget to do that, and now my wheels are in the tyre-seller's store, at the moment i can't get them to test the weight..

i'd like to know the exact differecence of weight between the ronal arrasate 7,5x17 and 7,5x18..:)

Id did not weigh the alloys, sorry. But the 17" are noticeable lighter on acceleration..
However, on winter tyres, at some point is does not matter as you want grip at "take off"...)

I could easily take the picture, but cant upload it before 22.00 tonight... hope that is fine.
