Hiya
Looking at some new wheels but some are only available in oversize 19".
Does this have an adverse effect on the handling of the car?
If so is it slight or noticeable?
any info would be handy.
It's for an LCR.
Cheers.

Me too. I have a Cupra and an R at present. Have to sell the Cupra at some point soon. Finding it hard to part with.
I like the Rota Grid and also the Riviera wheel in Matt black.
Bola B7s too but you can get 18s.

First Google search came up with Bola B7 in 18's VW fitment....

https://www.lkperformance.co.uk/wheels/bola/6125-B7-Gloss-Black?vehicle=1428

Yup I know the B7 in 18" fit.
I'm a 5 or 6 spoke guy, but do like the Bola B7.
Also the B2 but I can't find an 18" in black. Weird.
I can't justify the price but the TSW Sochi and Mirabeau are stunning.
I'd be pissed if I curbed one!
Decisions decisions.
Also wanted Toyo T1Rs on the rims but they don't go over 18.
Another slightly annoying factor.
Rubber on 19s is expensive too.
I do like the Riviera even though 19".
Wondered if going to be a big difference to the driving, as the tire profile is reduced to counter act the increase in rim size I'm guessing?
So hopefully it's no big difference.

Grids always struck me as a more JDM/ Ricer style wheel.

I'm more of a multi spoke person, although dislike them when it comes to cleaning!

Running 19" wheels atm, 8.5 front 9.5 rear.

check my insta for pics and stuff, but i havnt noticed any adverse effects from them.

@harleonquin

they're for sale too, £300.

tyres are expensive, i think i payed 100 a corner from tweeks.

Good news. I'm pretty keen on the Rivieras.

Yup Grids very Japo.
Like the race wheel look though. Especially when big like a 19.

So I've swerved off topic.
It's the geometry I'm most interested in. Will the cars handling characteristics stay the same with 19"rims.
Or is that too large a wheel for the car to behave the same.
I'd rather have a different wheel than compromise the handling.
Anyone with technical answers that can baffle me with science would be most welcome to comment.

Bigger wheel will have better handling as there's less tyre wall to distort whilst going round corners however this is at the price of comfort.

Ok that's interesting. Thanks.
Do you think it will be much bumpier?
I believe the profile becomes something like 235 x 35 x 19

If you're losing half an inch of rubber on the tyre wall yes it will bumper. With the roads the way they are anything less than 45mm your probably risking alloy damage due to pot holes but that's a risk you need to weigh up.
