I've got a FRTDI (PD130) with, I think a 160 air intake? Does this mean the air box has been changed also (previous owner altered a few bits). I'm looking just to replace the std air filter with a cotton jobbie.

Also when I purchased the car (12 months ago) I acquired a set of coilovers, that were never actually fitted to my car (previously on MK4 1.6 SPORT i think?) These were on said model for approx 3000 miles, and boxed ever since. CONDITION WISE THEY LOOK OK, A BIT OF ROAD DIRT. Could I still bolt these on or would they need a little TLC/re-con?

Thanks for the advice.

SO THE BOX SHOULD BE THE SAME, OR DOES THE BOX 'HAVE TO BE CHANGED TO ACCOMODATE IT? (sorry about caps) I have a strut brace on the car and it catches the air box, so i thought this might be an after market fit?

If the intake pipe squashes in a bit after the first inch or so, it's the PD130 one. If the width is about the same, it's the PD160 one. Both will fit the same airbox so it's probably not been replaced.

Coilovers should be ok to fit as long as they aren't seriously leaking/bent or anything.

the box fits both as the fitment is the same...just the widths are different along the tube. if you click the link in my siggie there's a pic of the engine bay and you can see what it should look like (my stru brace doesn't touch anything)

Yep, looks like mine, not sure why my strut brace catches? So if I change the panel filter, is it like for like re size?

mine dont catch its about 2mm away from it.

the coilovers ya have i would strip down and clean all the threads up and grease them so there easy to adjust.
