just spoken to a man in the know and the dash inserts for the Mk 3 would need to be programmed into the car. Additionally if the insert you have bought has already been programmed to another car then you have a problem. In theory once it has been programmed it can only be reset at the factory. A dealer would not be able to do it. There may be a specialist out there somewhere that could but you would need to search
Correct, it's coded to the immobiliser.... I think that you will be able to 'fix' this with vag-com (module 17)
