nice one did you notice how cold the inlet manifold feels after a drive?

I only took it from my mates house to mine, and was in works traffic so didn't really get chance to test it out.

I hope this damned Cupra breaks 200 bhp now!

has it got an up to date service history? thats all i can think of with the problem your having or the person who mapped missed somthing out maybe.

It hasn't got any - excuse the stupidity but how could that negatively affect it?

It did have new Denso Iridum plugs fitted just prior to the last dyno run and they seemed to make no difference.

It may just never go past 200 bhp?:confused:

a poor service history or not having been serviced atall the oil brakes down loosing its viscosity which means all the internal parts dont get lubed as they should and wear, fuel filter being caked in grime probally wouldnt do the car good and shyte spark plugs with a massive gap would make the car run poor all having an impact on performance over time.
your car will go past 200bhp im putting it down to the map as i think that could be whats holding it back as you personally didnt get it mapped.

Hmm, well maybe a good service is needed then! As said its running the correct plugs with the correct gap now, but it could do with oil filter / oil / fuel filter change.

The lad who owns the dyno said the graph seemed nice and smooth, with a healthy A/F ratio? Who knows. I thought Revo stage 1 maps were generic anyway, so is there even such a thing as a 'bad' generic map?

Only other think I can think of is that its running a K03 turbo:shrug:

Great looking car :) looks like it's well looked after

Cheers:D

good point on the generic map thinking,it shouldnt have a ko3 as all mk4 petrols have ko3s,maybe the rolling road was having a bad day afterall they are only a guideline rather than being exact.

Or maybe the cars a shed?

These are two seperate dyno sessions on the same Rolling Road (CC Tuning in Burton).

Now I was hoping for / expecting 205 - 210, but was shocked and dissapointed at the results.

Runs 1 + 2 (day 1)

Run 3 (day 2) A tweak of the actuator (as it was on the low side - 0.2 bar), resulted in this :

Initially we thought it may be hitting soft limp mode on the second run, so lowered the actuator setting a touch, and the results went :

196 > 194 > 191 bhp.

We thought heatsoak, so a Newsouth inlet manifold gasket has been added - but I have to say i'm not so confident.

Decided to add a decent CAF today, its a 90mm diameter neoprene CAF, so should send plenty of cold air to the filter - it utilizes the standard CAF port behind the front grille :
