Eibach is one of the best aftermarket springs manufacturers, they are tested under the t.u.v quality thing, basicly same as OEM so reliable, plus you get a 2 year warranty, i dont put cheap stuff on my car, has to be top quality or OEM.... the drop is sensible, i have to get past very high speed bumps where i live, and have never touched them with a body part! also depends on what wheels youve got, plus you obvs have to slow down at the bumps, im 100% cirtain that you would hit any bump if you fly onto it over 30mph even on oem suspension!! i take them usually under 20, but always depends on size and the graduation on how it goes up... on the induction, again, its one of the most expensive ones, what it does, is.... suck up air quicker than your standart air filter, therefore, the reves go up quicker, the car is more responsive, but obviously with that, the fuel consumtion goes down as the harder you press that pedal, the more petrol it burns, but this induction is ok on fuel, and isnt noisy at all, compared to cheap aftermarkets, you can only really tell that theres an induction kit at 3500-4000 revs, but i dont bring it up there often.. but it does increase the response

Yeah everything is stock on the car at the mo so standard wheels like yours in the first pic. I try and take the bumps below 20 as well as it gets a bit rough otherwise. Wasn't sure if by kit it was springs alone or springs and dampers so thanks for the info. My stock suspension has done almost 70K now and I'm not sure if just changing the springs would be a good idea.

As for the induction kit I'd almost never feel it then as I rarely hit that range lol I just had to ask as I thought most performance mods would be wasted on our 1.6's.

The fr mirrors do make a nice subtle difference as well as the rear tints. My HID kit came yesterday so i'm looking to fit that tomorrow actually! 5000k not 8000k like yours. Bit too blue for my liking but each to their own.

I just put the spring on, and my car is around on the same milage, but i think, not too sure on this, but i think u can put cupra r shocks, and cupra r is already 20mm if not more lower than ours, so they should hold it up nicely, on the induction kit and 1.6, i wanted something for a long time for it, have always been looking at these bmc cda kits, so i just bought it in the end as i was going to buy it sooner or later, i do want the car to be a bit quicker, but theres limited amounts of stuff that you can do to our engine, so thats the deal lol, hid's shouldnt b a problem fitting, will see you well at night too! youl never want to go back to healogen haha... where abouts in london you from then? by the look of the car pics, the area looks familiar to me! somewhere in north london?

In that case, that sounds promising regarding the springs...still though, I'm sure the flaps would scrape if lowered. Only one way to find out!

Yeah I hear you on the quicker part, it would be nice to have a little more zip but meh It's not a complete slouch so I deal with it. Am really looking forward to fitting HID's, I drive more in the dark than during the day so it should be a more comfortable experience.

I'm from Walthamstow, so technically I'm east but I'm right next to a few N postcodes hence why the area looks similar I guess. Yourself?

No way lol, im from chingford, chingford mount, you must know it, never thought there were any seat enthusiasts around here lol... lowered on big wheels is nicer than mudflaps lol, if your not changing the wheels, dont bother lowering it as its better as it is, i have only lowered it due to big wheels, otherwise if i had my sx wheels on, i wouldnt even bothered of lowering it, theres no point!

Lol of course I do, we're pretty much right next to each other. I'm close to the big Sainsbury's in Chingford, near the now defunct, Walthamstow Dogs Stadium.

Yeah I know right, I see a few mk 1 leons these days around the area but never any forum members who are close by! Theres a black 20vt near me and a yellow tdi se near me as well, would love to know who owns them but doubt I'll ever find out.

I agree lowered on big wheels would be nicer than the flaps lol but to be honest I like the look of my mudflaps. They are on more for practicality than aesthetic reasons. Am looking for 18 inchs on ebay at the moment so I might be looking into a new set of springs soonish. Totally agree with you that lowering it on the 15 inch originals would be a waste.

Oh no no, its not, you have to take the bumper off, ripp the old grille off, cut the new grille to fit, and silicone/glue it in place, heres a pic of the grille, and what had to be cut off in red!

I heard the news about the trim, nice retrieval :) show me the pics when its done!! im rally considering pressed plates now that my windows are legal lol

DSC00557.jpg

The grill is looking too complicated for me to tackle myself lol, definitly dont want to remove the whole bumper

and yea i will post pics when the trim is done

lol cool, hoot your horn as much as you can if im passing you haha, prob seen eachother before but never paid attention to it, dont be stuck on 18's, consider 17's too, there not bad, especially if they are genuine, plus would be a little softer, but if you find nice 18's, then go for it, just be cautious if your buying reps, they could be buckeled, not sure how to check, but tht info must b sumwhere on here! i went for a ride in the car that the wheels were on to satisfy my decision, plus have examined them on the looks... so what speed bumps are you on about in walthamstow? the biggest ones i know of are in mile end lol, walthamstow isnt the worst for bumps, not too sure on what mud flaps do apart from keep the dirt away from your rear? inform me of other benefits lol

Lol will do if I see you! I can't bring myself to look at 17's. Its not that I don't like them, I just want 18's, was even looking at 19's for a little while but It would be a bit much. If I have the option to take a ride on them I will but if not obviously I'll give them as thorough a check as I can.

Its not so much the whole of walthamstow its just specifically where I am that they are around which I think is to stop people from speeding through in order to cut out the traffic lights on the main road. Before they resurfaced it recently there were massive gouges going through some of them probably caused by the hill/hump combo on the roads around me. After I'm out though most of the area is fine. Whats your area like? I know past chingford mount its all hill country out there right?

Ah yeah i was looking at RS6's 19s too, but its way too much lol, yh if your buying from ebay or something make a condition that there is nothing wrong with them mechanically or you would return them.

Yeah, the billet roundabout, the way to highams park, these bumps are so annoying, i was even considering to get spacers one time, just to air them lol.. yh out the other way is essex, country roads, used to go there quite alot in the night when i just passed, but didnt have the leon then, hvent beem throuigh there in a while now! have you ever been to krispy kremes in enfield? quite nice cars meet up there in the evenings, well so it was before the police got there, since i had the tints i avoided tht place lol

The car looks very nice mate.
The best change in my opinion are those sexy LCR alloys. Make it look so menacing - I want some for my ibiza!!
Love the grill & splitter combo also, that's another future consideration for myself.
And tints.
Christ, you've done everything I want to do!

Nice car.

Yeah the RS6's are alright, been done to death though imho! I'm finding it a bit of a pain to find wheels especially on ebay, the VAG centre bore seems to be quite wide compared to other 5*100 cars. Plus, now that I've seen the LCR wheels on yours thats all I'm looking at now! Been in contact with breakers just trying to work out whats a good price for them? Roughly how much were yours if you don't mind me asking?

I haven't been to krispy kremes but I know where it is, near the big cinema, morrison's and a few other stores but I didn't know people met up there.
