So I’m trying to find out when my next service is due.
The last service in the service book was over a year and 10k miles ago (before I owned the car) and I have yet to see a warning/message stating a service is due, so I assume the car has been converted to longlife. The manual states there is a way to display the miles/time to service on the MFD either in the ‘vehicle status menu’ or by ‘turning the rest knob’ I don’t seem to have a vehicle status menu on the MFD, unless I take a bulb out to trigger a fault. Turning the reset knob, which I assume is the trip reset knob, merely adjusts the clock.

Am I missing something? Can anyone shed some light on how I get this information to display?

Cheers,
Matt.

With the ignition on and vehicle stationary, use the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel to pan right or left until the SETTINGS menu is displayed. Then pan down to INTER SERVICE and press OK. If you then highlight INFO and press OK, it will display time and mileage until the next service.

Thanks for the reply TimSawf there isn't a INTER SERVICE option in my settings menu

Crafoo - Done and done I dont like the idea of long life servicing after all the 1.8t gunge threads. Id just like to know how you find out the time/distance to service.

Cheers,
Matt.

I honestly don't know mate. It has a display which fills the area between the temperature & fuel gauges.
This displays the SATNAV info, Audio, Phone etc.

Does your MFD look like this?

Then it as simple as just using the left/right buttons on the right hand button on the steering wheel to scroll through the options until you get to the "SERVICE" display shown in my picture.

The other way to see the service status is to go to scroll left/right to the "SETTINGS" menu, scroll down to and select the "Service" menu item (this is just off the bottom of the initial list you are shown), then select the "Info" option.

Below is a video showing the order and sequence of the MFD menu screens on mine. I am scrolling through each of the screens using only the right direction button of the right-hand button on the steering wheel. I scroll through all the menu screens twice. As you can see, one of the screens shows "VEHICLE STATUS" and this is where the miles or days to next service values are shown. I then show how to go to the "Service Info" from the "SETTINGS" screen which also displays the same values...

I'm afraid I'm stumped then. If you could get access to VCDS it would be good to get the model number of cluster you have fitted from the scan info. Maybe the very early facelift cars with the highline cluster didn't have the service menu for some reason. It might even be as simple as getting a software update applied to your cluster by the dealer.

It would be useful to know if any other 2010 facelift owners have the service data missing from their highline MFD as well or if it's just you.

Yeah I dont do many miles :)

Have you got a VCDS scan of your instrument cluster? It would be interesting to see which hardware/software yours has, and indeed matylad's too.

This is mine for reference (the important numbers are in red)...
