Last week i saw in the stand the new leon fr and the all interior is plastic.

In general i think is the unique negative about the car is the interior plastics :(

I have the facelift, done over 1000 miles and so far no rattles. Yes there are plastics but half of dash is soft plastics and you can see they've placed soft touch rubber in some places where hard plastic joins meet. Maybe something they did to improve the rattles in the facelift? Overall I'm very happy with mine.

In recent interviews with seat designers about the Ibiza they acknowledged the hard plastic dash and said they could have done a soft touch but then they're building a car to meet peoples affordability. I for one will make do with hard plastic in places where is doesn't matter to save myself from the prices of Volkswagen and Audi

Might affect the dab signal

Yeah could well be the case. I swapped my halogen one out for an led one on my older se previously and whenever I selected reverse the radio would lose signal. Might just stick with the halogen but maybe get an updated bulb if that's possible?????

This is the main reason that make me doubt I will buy any other Seat again!

I don't know but perfect car you won't find.

My brother had so many cars in his life, from VAG,to few Mercedes, couple of new BMW,Opel, and can't remember the rest really. Only good car was Passat series 4 and Mercedes C220 it was 2007 year of production. I mean in terms of build quality. Rattle from doors only Passat didn't had. It depends on what roads do you use your car and how you treat it usually. But in new Passat or Golf you expect some more better interior? In free time I work at local car workshop and really only I can see new cars are really cheap with build quality. If you pay for more equipment you can expect better quality.
But for that car in start you can pay 30.000 Euro, with all other things you will pay at least 10-15 k more. But really if something can be fixed why bother with it? Door rattle ? Just put some sponge inside, foam, tape or what else and enjoy the ride :) Life is too short to bother with those things.
I know it pisses off when you pay money for the car and expect everything is good. Few months ago friend bought new Mercedes C class with most equipment and after using car for few days it had problem with dashboard( digital cockpit). With Mercedes warranty they changed it.So don't bother guys with that tiny problems. Once I asked my brother you don't get pissed with those sounds from doors or trunk, he just smiled on it and said just turn up the music a little bit louder you won't hear it. Last car he had was BMW F10 2011 year and after using it for about 30. 000 km both front drive shafts broke and he needed to pay 1500 Euro to fix it.

Sorry for long post but like I said no perfect thing on this world exists so with cars is same thing. Just wish for less faults and defects :)

Dealers here in Czech are reporting lead time for Cupra ST 300 DSG 4drive with Performance pack from 22 to 45 weeks. If you don´t want the performance pack it´s "only" 5 months. That is quite insane. If you look for the facelifted CUPRAs ST at German´s "mobile.de" market place, there are plenty of them even in 4drive version in stock but any single car with the perf. pack. What more the performance pack is gone from the configurator again. Looks like SEAT has been facing some issues with suppliers ...

Has anyone got one of the free 250 fuel cards from seat?

Yes it's side skirts I believe and some colours coming before others. They've never released it in the UK yet despite the UK jorno media day having PP cars to play with and photograph.

Why do people (reviewers in particular) worry about whether plastic is hard or soft?
It's still only plastic fgs!
I could understand it if dashboards were made of cheese but then nobody would want to buy a french car! :smoke:

Because hard plastics look and feel cheap. They are also more prone to creaks and rattles, and they scratch easily because they are brittle. They can make a £20k car feel and look like a £10k car.

You are paying too much intention to those :) I don't see that new passat has better plastics or even golf. Father has Passat CC and interior creaks from all of the sides. It has 200 000 km now and he bought it new.

Rattles can be fixed or minimalized, the biggest problem is weather, cold hot and plastics get problems then.

Sorry but I can't agree... I had a chance to compare the new GTI and Cupra 300 yesterday and Golf feels noticeably nicer. Leon is OK but my parent's 1st generation (facelifted) Fabia has more less the same hard-to-soft-plastic ratio ;)

I agree the golf is nicer inside however I own a mk1 fabia vrs and the interior of the Leon is much better quality
