I own a 2023 Arona FR equipped with the H59 module. I spent a lot of time trying to activate wireless CarPlay, while most retrofit shops wanted high fees to fix it.
My main issue: whenever I tried enabling WLAN or the Hotspot, it instantly toggled back off (even though I had enabled the corresponding menus via OBDeleven).
The fix turned out to be completely unexpected.
Due to regional 5 GHz Wi-Fi regulatory restrictions, the MIB3 unit must verify its location via GPS before allowing 5 GHz broadcasting. Since my factory unit lacked a GPS feed, I simply purchased an aftermarket GPS antenna/module, plugged it into the back of the MIB unit, performed a hard reset, and drove for about 5 minutes. The unit locked its location, and wireless CarPlay immediately started working smoothly!
