Not a fan of the new color to be honest. I absolutely love the carbon roof though!!!!

You are my reference anyway, respect to those mantaining a Tolly II in such a brand new look :)

Just to keep this alive ,
the Toledo is still alive 160k miles on it roughly now , I’m in the process of having a full engine built up to manage a g25-550 but that is a long term project so won’t happen very quickly .
I canceled my black formentor vz2 310 as it was held up waiting on cameras and beats , took a car the dealer had ordered for stock which had a paint option and beats , was happy to have the car and not wait as the M140i was sold and gone and was lacking a fun ‘new’ car for the family role .

So on Sunday I was on my way to look at a 2001 Ibiza Cupra 1.8T as these have always been on my list and a car I’ve known for a few years was offered to me.

On my way to view said Ibiza the RED oil light pings up on my dash , pulled over , checked oil level etc , fired it back up again and oil light has gone out , looked at the Ibiza but now have this oil light in the back of my mind wondering if my Toledo is about to give up on me after 9 years .

I do have a second engine being built but this is some way off due to cost of a fully built engine .

On the way home oil light comes on and straight back off again .

Got it to the workshop . New pick up , pressure switch , oil , filter , etc

Strainer had debris in it mainly bits of sealer ,
Main find was the oil pressure switch is leaking oil out the plug connection end so this looks to be the culprit ,

Either way so far with new parts fitted all looks to be okay but next few days I’ll see how it plays out , engine still sounds sweet and no swarf so I suspect oil pressure has been alright and it’s the switch .

So I picked up a LCR today for a bargain price of £1200,
Double din
Recaro 2+2

Low owner car with the original invoice from seat from 2005 ,

Once the coolant temp sensor was swapped over it drove home 100miles without fault

I only want the recaros out of it and have already sold it on to a friend of mine to restore

I’m in deep with this car now , it only cost me £1500 back in 2014 but I love it .

It drives better than ever and now it handles amazingly I’ll get the engine build back on track and done over winter .

wow no update since 2023 !

Let’s catch up ,

Toledo is still here on 172k miles now tucked up in my garage in perfect shape as ever .

I went mad recently and have gone through a few cars on a wild buying spree

Car 1 ) Leon Cupra 290 st black edition , 365bhp APR tune . Bucket seats , sub 8 wheels , Nevada white , perfect spec .

Drove this for around a year or so , no issues lovely car . Real fast , beauty to drive

Then I saw a Leon Cupra R ST ABT come up with only 1600 miles on it ,on a 5 year old car. Unheard of , did all my checks , everything was legit and panned out correct , but sadly was too much money at the time £36,995 , I sat back watched it and eventually it came down to sensible money at £33,995 and managed to get a good trade on the 290 so the deal was done and the R was coming home .

I’ve driven the R and put about 600 miles on it , but to be honest it needs to be stored and not driven , with the low mileage it should be in seat hq , It’s unmarked and the carbon is scratch free and I just can’t bare to drive it anywhere incase
It gets damaged , I priced up replacement carbon for it and it came to just under £8k , front splitter alone is £2k .

So I then got my self another daily / work horse , real nice discovery 4 ,

Then my wife started driving the discovery and has taken over that so I’ve now done a deal , deposit taken and the Cupra r st ABT is on its way to its new home on Tuesday , it’s been a pleasure and I’ve owned one of the best versions of the Leon to be produced so I’m happy .

I’m probably going to get an Ateca vz3 so I’ll be able to upload a dealer review on here for Marshall’s Oxford if they can do a long term seat addict a deal , this will be my 10th seat / cupra purchase . Might try and list them all one day for a chuckle .

Then when we start seeing the 5pot cars in the uk , I’ll probably go into one of them after .

Just looked through the entire thread, what a build! I've always liked the mk2 Toledo and yours is one fine example.

You're right about the facelift MK3 Cupra R (especially the ABT). Probably the best car the brand has released in recent history.

So went to look at the Ateca VZ3 in Oxford. The car wasn’t upto my standards so left it.

We then drove 2.5 hours to Braintree Seat and found a really nice Ateca VZ3 with the only owner being Cupra HQ in MK ,

Deal done and deposit left
