225 BAM boost problem

Hi, Just wondering if anyone can help me out. A friend has just bought an Audi tt 225 BAM. Its not boosting as i should or really not a all. No engine management light come on so no fault codes to read. He's tried another air flow meter, fitted a new TIP as the old one was split, tried another N75 and nothing has made any difference. It doesn't have a boost gauge fitted so i can't tell you what it's actually boosting to.

If engine light isn't on doesn't mean there is no codes? Sounds like wastegate stick open / limp mode/ boost leak/ turbo fault? Snapped shaft? Multiple things scan it!

Thanks for the reply. He's had it plugged into a diagnostic scanner and it said the maf was faulty. Changed it and no difference. He's taken the tip off and the shaft spins free with minimal play. I did say maybe the wastegate. I've got a boost leak tester here so i'll try that for him tommorow.
