Just a really quick question, has the leon cupra r 225 got a hydraulic or cable clutch? i hope its a cable!! also if it has a hydraulic system how often do you need to change the fluid? search didn't really tell me much:)

is the clutch easy to bleed or difficult to get too?? im gonna change the brake fluid myself you see, its good i found that out cheers:p its sounds like a difficult system to bleed, i love a challenge! any tips?

If you like a challange you've got one finding all the bleed points:p

There are 9 in the system, go find:)

Oh hope yu have a 1/4" drive socket set with loads of extensions;)

When my FR needed bleeding we took one look at it and though, nah stuff that and took it to my local friendly VW specialist, all done for £20 :)

Get a pressure bleeder - eazibleeder is probably the cheapest, attach it to a spare tyre then just open the bleed nipples. As for the clutch slave i did mine when i took my clutch out so i think i had the airbox and gear cables out the way then its easier to access.

I found 8 bleed points 4 on the brembo's 2 on the rear calipers 2 on the master cylinder which look bloody hard to get too!! and not the clutch slave cylinder can somone tell me where it is. i bet its really hard to find/get too. just need to find that and im there. going to look at it in detail at the weekend and access if i want to attempt this might just be easier and less agro if i take it to dealers for brake fluid change:p

The last one is on the slave cylinder for the clutch
This is found when looking into the engine from the front of the car, between the engine and the battery.
Look down, it is the same nipple that you found on the master cylinder

Nice one cheers matey!!! will look at that at weekend. i fancy giving it a go i think not going to let it get to me and give in, and then take it to the dealers to charge me a fortune!!! does the last bleed point take some finding or is it really obvious? ie do you need to move stuff to see it?

no not really you can get to it with a deep 11mm 1/4 drive with a 3 inch extenstion on it, just have someone in the car to pump the pedal by HAND. but the fluid id the same as the brakes so if that wass changed recently i wouldnt bother unless youve got a spongy pedal....

Its just over 2 years since the brake fluid was changed so im going to do it in the next few weeks. The brake system looks easy to bleed done many before but not one that has the clutch on the same system. so i pump the clutch or brake pedal to bleed the clutch?

you havin a laugh???
the clutch of course..
oh if you are going to do the brakes and end up with a crap pedal it's because the master will also need bleeding but be careful as the nipples snap off quite easily when undoing them.... ther are 2 7mm nipples on the side of the master...

Right last question about all this!! had a look today and now found all bleed points. (looks ok to do not too difficult) thinking about it if im only changing the fluid do you really have to bleed the master cylinder? if you start from the furthest bleed point away from it then by the time you get to the master cylinder there will be fresh fluid in it. so surely you can leave it?? i would think that this only needs bleeding if you let the level drop too low or you change the master cylinder itself. what do you think??

Very similar but the opposite, bleed the points closest to the reservoir first, then gradually work to the farthest away one last.
If your going to do it do it all, remove the contents of the reservoir, fill with fluid and start bleeding. Keep topping the reservoir up

Ok i will do it all. its probably the right thing to do. so syringe the fluid out the reservoir and fill it up then bleed the master cylinder, clutch then o/s/f wheel then n/s/f wheel then o/s/r wheel then n/s/r wheel. Sound about right?

Almost
The brake system goes front near side to rear offside, front offside to rear near side. So do above but finish one system before moving onto the other

It alright, let us know how you get on, how much brake fluid do you have and what bleed system are you using
Please don't say pressure up and open nipples

without sounding stupid, the last time my brake fluid was changed I supplied SEAT with castrol super dot 4 stuff (similar to the motul stuff but cheaper!) to use rather than the oem fluid.

now since then i have had my clutch changed, and I read a couple of days ago in the receipt that the clutch system was bled at the same time. does this mean I no longer have my castrol brake fluid?!
