Got a 5dr cupra black edition with metallic and DSG coming December. £264pm with no upfront payment for 5k miles

Which dealer?

I am finding big variations in quotes from dealers for same spec. Going to contact Seat on Monday
Last dealer quote 368.92 +23 x 368.93 8k = £8854 5dr dsg + metallic + sound pack

I'm also looking for something in the £200-300 bracket. I looked on the seat website and nothing came close for such a low deposit.

Is whatcar a good search to use for this?

Edit: it would be a 290 black 5dr (and also in black colour) DSG with a few options. 8k.

Below website doesn't have all lease companies on it but a good starting point. These are however lease deals rather than PCP. Lookers have some decent deals

I just ordered my Cupra 290 BE after a few years with an FR184

I spoke with DM Keith in York who offered a pretty good deal, but I placed my order via Lookers Stockport as their deal just edged it. With 10k per year, on a 5 dr manual my total payments will be roughly £6100. For DSG it was about £6900

Just a note that adding on extras to a PCH deal will increase your monthly payments significantly- so you have to be rational in deciding if you actually need them. A £500 extra will cost you £500 over the course of the contract - there is no residual value considered so pay for them in full

Also you can't get the 290 Black in black. Which I still don't understand

Did you deal with retail or fleet department, as I am finding very large variances in dealer quotes.

At DM Keith I called & spoke with someone in the regular sales team, but normally it would have been there fleet manager (he wasn't in the office that day)

With Lookers I have a contact who seems to be handling all of their fleet enquires. She said she'd sold 12 cupras in a week!

All of the deals from mail dealers are underwritten by VW financial services so they should be comparable

Worth a call to your local dealer & quote some of the numbers you've seen from these other companies. Worst they can say is no

Have you asked for both PCP and PCH deals? Can be a lot of difference in price and the dealers normally just give you a PCP quote as the PCH quote normally needs to come from the 'fleet' team.

I asked for a 3+23 quote. I haven't heard back from them yet so it's not going to be today by the looks of it. How quickly did quotes come back to you guys and gals?

I'm not convinced I know the difference between PCP and PCH so I'll do some reading up while I wait.

Some dealers respond quickly some not at all! Getting PCH terms can be even harder and worth looking at lease companies.

The main differences between PCH & PCP are:

PCP

You are the registered keeper
You have 3 options at the end of the term: Terminate at the end of the term and hand the car back to finance company
Pay the GFV ‘balloon’ payment and buy the car so it is yours
Trade the car in as a part exchange against another car

PCH

You are not the registered keeper
You have to hand the car back to the finance company at the end of the term, there is no option to buy it.

It usually works by the dealer telling you the car is worth x+1 where x is the GFV. For example, your GFV is £12k the dealer say the car is actually worth £13.5k so that they will give you an extra £1.5k off a new car. It's all smoke and mirrors where they are playing with their margin tbh.

PCH

On my leased 290 in the info pack from SEAT it does state that someone who isn't named on the contact could purchase the car at the end of the contract term - Family member etc. Would be interesting to see what they say it's worth at the end.

OK so DM Keith York didn't get back to me so I asked another local dealer and got a quote back within 30 mins!

Cupra 290 Black DSG 5dr with metallic paint and ACC. 8k miles per year.

3+23 £300 per month (Inc vat) with £1000 up front (after some money back from dealer).

Isn't bad. Not the cheapest I've seen but I'm inclined to go with it I think.

(works out £7900 total)
