Still suffering with this snag, I found a split in the hose from the crankcase to the big ugly airbox and once I replaced it the bl**dy oil light now come on even more often. Doesn't take much to work out that they are related but I've no idea why. Elsewhere on this site it's been suggested that the pickup tube or the strainer could be blocked is that worth a look?
The car does a fair amount of short journeys and there's a good amount of emulsion floating about (the old breather tube was full of the stuff!! Any suggestions regarding this would be useful, is it causing a
problem or masking it in some way.

BTW already changed the oil pressure switch, complete oil change/filter change.
