Mirror dip in reverse?
I know this thread has been going a while, however I have now been advised by VAG that if vehicle has 360 view the dipped mirror is not programmed to dip because you can see all around?
Is this the case or is it a fault they can't seem to rectify.

Hmm, well I guess that will be on the facelift version then? Because my Sept 20 PFL Cupra Ateca has both the 360 camera and the dip on reverse - the latter being much better at stopping you kerbing nearside wheels when reversing than the former.

Thanks fletch

Well you have certainly answered my question, mines a 19 reg, and I have now taken it to 2 dealers (trying to get it sorted before warranty runs out this month) on both occasions nothing comes up on their equipment, so they came up with the above excuse.
Any advice from anyone would oblige.

Yes it's supposed to dip on mine as well, the box is ticket on the info I've tried every which way, even tried activating again with OBD11 ( to my wasted 30 credits) to no avail something is definitely a miss on this, what's peeing me off is vag's soldiers and probably limited knowledge haven't a clue??

Not that brilliant any way due to the shape of the wing mirror. If you are use to it I can see people may want it. I programmed mine myself with Obdeleven Pro (no credits, don't use those micropayment apps) but as I might have said early up there are two different motors. Where it's intended feed back is given so they don't drift with use. Mine drifted but I don't use it. When they are factory fitted you get the correct motor in them.

Mirror dip coding for pre My20 is here:

360 works fine on white line parking, saves messing about. Not good on edge parking in the dark. You can tap one side to get just the left view which is probably where it comes from that you don't need dropped wing mirror view. Least pre My20 you can pat the screen to give different 360 views. I leave mine in normal overview. Reversing you get the overview and the reverse camera view. First is useful to track down a curved grass lawn so you don't run on it. Reverse camera view to see the wall behind.

Thanks Tell,
They are factory fitted, and I also have the OBD11 Pro tool. I think in future I'll just use the self park, might as well use it, how good is it in the dark?

That's a problem with the added bling on Cupras more expense if you damage the designer bits. Probably have to buy Cupra next since the luxury practical things are now mainly offered on those. When I bought mine it was like buying a Tiguan where you paid extra for each feature, bought all features less than the tow bar, now they are not sold like that so I got features you can't buy now.

So am I right in saying you had to buy a bog standard then add at a cost the niceties to which they now come kitted out, wouldn't the costings work out the same

Manufacturers (including Audi, which I had) used to let you mix and match to get what you wanted, so my A4 had sports suspension, electric tailgate, a grey alcantara interior, reversing camera on a basic Quarttro. Now you cant do that, there are virtually no options, you just have to buy what they build - and higher spec cars get a much higher margin than a base car, plus production planning is simpler. I got the Special Edition because I like alcantara seats much better than leather, but it meant 20” rims and I’d have been more than happy with the standard 19”s.

Happen to have the original launch June 2016 price list with me. Page 8. You got the standard Xcellence and could then add the kitchen sink to it. Syphon said they will never sell them like that again, one of my lamentations. Cheapskates didn't specify the extras. Oh I don't need this etc. Virtual tailgate, panoramic took, mib2 high system with Seat Sound system, 360 cameras etc. Cupras now have such things as standard whilst the non Cupras arent an options.Up shot is when I do change sticking with Seat / Cupra I'd have to have a Cupra to get the nice bits plus the bling 🙄. Bling less at the minute. 😂

Better anwer your question again you can just pick off the left wing mirror camera when reversing out of the 360. I can you stab that part of the image as I recall. That's probably the argument for not fitting drop down side mirror, you use the mounted camera in that position.

Bang goes your human rights

Yes that's what vag are saying but what's confusing is that on the info menu it has dip mirror in reverse with a tick in box??

Just when in reverse you should be able to tap around the screens and see the left side. I did do it for a bit but then didn't bother anymore.

Well these pages should be good for you if you have my19 with top view as Seat call it. On my tablet away... Let you reassemble the pages in the correct order. That's how you fumble the Top View cameras prior to the facelift. Pages from the Ateca manual.

You twiddle the mirror knob to left or right whatever I said in the coding link. Think it's right. The motor is connected else you would never be able to adjust the mirrors. Then the rest I covered in the coding instructions but as said VAG had a period of not fitting the correct motor with the sensor so the mirror drifted with repeated use.

You can do the Don test as I named aftèr the guru of coding that provided it.

If it fails yours will drift.

Thanks for the pic's Tell, I have these in my manual only issue is when you expand the view you only see the nsf wheel & 1/2 of the front passenger door, maybe helpful if you drive in forwards (who does that) no good when reversing

As far as dipping the passenger mirror coding if you have memory seats... ? Cupra the coding varies:

As per the text might be your issue:

Note that for memory seats enable bit 1 if you don't have memory seats don't enable it.
