thanks for the confidence there m0rk, I always thought they were good and it makes me feel a bit better that someone agrees.

Is there anything I've missed that could be the cause of the pulling to the left?

The way I see it, if 4 wheels point forwards, then the car should go forwards. So it MUST be one of the wheels that putting the car out, and from the results must be one of the rear two, as the front two are pretty good.

If the steering wheel wasnt aligned correctly, would this make the car pull to the side? Or would the car continue to go straight, but with a "wonkey" steering wheel?

if the wheel isn't on straight - the car should still pull & brake in a straight line (if you have the wheel at the wonky angle)

you're right, the fronts seem both similar - whereas the larger variation is at the rear.

ok cool, my steering wheel could be slightly out, but that irradicates that from the problem.

Me? Right? no mate, its YOU that pointed it out ;) Just need to find prices and see what the mechanics suggest.. and see if they think its worth doing. I just need to see if others think it could be the same.

hey peeps.

Someone has now suggested it could be the front ball joint(s).... does this make sense to you?

they've also mentioned that it could cause an intermittent wheel wobble, which i sometimes get at 65ish mph.

Cheers

it would worry me if they had that amount of play in them....

jack the car up & have a good 'wiggle' on the steering tie rods

Did you ever solve this Pabs?

Just discovered my near side rear is also bent like your offside one!

Am guessing it will need a new stub axle, just woonderd if you ever got yours replaced?

Yes mate - solved it - my rear wheel isnt that far out, and it was just a case of getting wheels properly balanced, and subframe twisted a bit (i think)

drives MUCH straighter now! Well chuffed!

Apparently the cross camber (front) is out due to being lowered, and that theres not much I can do about it...

Well, i could install a camber adjustment kit, but thats overkill IMO.

Why..in demontweaks, they are only around £300 for the complete geometry set up kit..Il be purchasing one soon.

Im wondering if the car has had a shunt and not gone through insurance.

Might not have been fixed properly

If your gonna do it..you may aswell do it properly. If the car gets lowered, then the geometry gets put out..and not all of it can be adjusted without the alingment kit. Plus, you can buy bits seperatly.

TBH, if you use expensive tyres, it will pay for itself quite sharpish when the tyre wears evenly again and lasts longer.

The tyres on my Leon cost £276 each...So correct geometry could save alot of money. And improve grip a fair amount.

i know the place u used mate..they did the alingment on my mini...In pont right?

Waiting to get it back tomoro..then lowering it a touch more..then sorting out geometry.

my car is only about 10mm lower now, not 35mm. + the labour i spent was much less than £300 + labour to fit that. My tyres cost £100/corner - and that is for GSD3's - which i think are awesome tyres.

If you are paying £1000 for tyres every year or 2, then chrikey - can I be added to ur xmas present list???? :)

lol...

gues it depends on spec list...I fitted bilstien coilovers to get the heigth and rebound i wanted..and the tyres are Pirelli P-zero's...Had them a bit cheaper with wheels..I wouldnt buy them again..but id never get cheap tyres either.

Just i do a few events, track days ect...and a silly amount of milleage for example..25,000 miles in 7 months....for me, i think the geometry kit would be worth it..Gues thats not true for all people.

you pay £276 each for Pirelli P-zero's??? ....

I do somewhere around 25k miles a year now - hence why i wanted to get mine sorted - now its sorted its SOOO much better!

Hope you get yours all sorted too!

even 19's off mytyres in a sain tyre size aren't that much

so you must walk in with your card number on your forehead.

A sensible alignment is all you need - lowering the leon does not increase the camber by much, unless you are dumb enough to have it resting on it's sills - but even then, no amount of 'camber kit' can actually do anything as it's all fixed points.

£300 would be better spent elsewhere. a very good alignment won't cost more than £120 - and will get it all pointing in the right direction.

Just checked tyre prices ect.

and for my wheels. 245/35/19's...they are alot less than what i stated...I had these tyres with the wheels...and a few weeks ago my mate was looking for tyres for his Vxr, and he told me they were £276 each...So i went off this price...Im guesing he may have done a silly thing and priced up tyres at the stealers lol.

Sorry all.
