42A0 "unknown fault" on Seat Leon FR TDi 150

Hi all,

I have had the engine management light come on and have taken it to my trusted independant garage. They have checked it and the code is 42A0 which comes up as unknown fault.

Can any body offer any advice? They cleared the fault for me, but 24hrs later it reappeared. The car runs fine and this has not affected anything I can tell so far.

I beleive my unit is a Bosch EDC15P if that is of any help!
My car is a 55 plate Leon FR TDi 150.

I would be grateful of any advice from you knowledgable lot!

That isnt a VAG used code so going to be a bit difficult to work out. You need it checked with VAG COM or dealer equipment to get the right number.

I believe that is a 17056 fault code and you can see what that code is all about on the Ross-Tech Wiki: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/17056/P0672/001650

Glow plug problems are pretty common on your age TDi.
