5mm spacers standard bolts

Most people seem to think its fine to use the standard length bolts with 5mm spacers. But I don't feel to safe I have only got around 2-3 whole turns on the bolts anyone else running standard bolts and 5mm spacers

I ran 5 mm spacers with standard wheel bolts it was fine but it up to you if you want to take the risk

I had 5mm on the front of my MK3 and the rears I ran 20mm hubcentric. Never had any issues.

you are using less thread to hold the wheels on.... Remember that

I went for longer bolts in the end car does stupid speed and for the sake of 12 quid or so for the bolts it's not worth running the risk wouldn't feel safe

At the end of the day, buy 5mm spacers, buy bolts that are 5mm longer than standard. Buy 20mm spacers, buy bolts 20mm longer than standard.

It's your arse on the line at the end of the day... I would rather fork out a tenner on new bolts rather than have wheels fall off..!

I bought 10mm longer bolts for my 5mm spacers. The possibilities are too dangerous to be ignored.

You have to watch that you don't go right through the hub though and lock them out on something without actually tightening the wheels. I don't think an extra 5mm would do this though.

On the front wheels of my lcr there was very little thread biting, 5-6 turns iirc, with original bolts and no spacers.
