have you checked the sump plug to make sure its not leaking or the cam tensioner seal ?
my sump plug was over done by the previous owner so now I just use some of this on the sump plug

2cv boot clips? zip ties are cheaper and will work just the same, I always use zip ties and never had a problem

itll leak more when driving as the oil heats up and thins 
I know because I left my car running and once it was upto temp I looked under the car and it was leaking more , when it was cold and I checked pretty much nothing leaked
maybe the asda oil was thicker than Castrol then, just use the rest of the oil you have then get an oil change and get the sump plug fixed

You not think I should go up to 5w-40 cause even if I fix the plug it still me be getting out somewhere else, like u say it goes thinner when hot, I've got a drive down to Manchester on Monday so don't what my light coming on, maybe just go back on the asda stuff just now and fix the plug, it's oil and it will do till I get back if holiday,once my cars gets put in the garage to get the money spent on it then the best oil will be used but just now oil is oil lol
unless your sumps cracked or head gasket is blown there is no way youll use that much oil driving, I was doing thousands of miles before it needed topping up, i was lazy and only fixed the fault when i did an oil change lol just take the oil you have with you,

if your deffantly going to change the oil though then don't buy any asda stuff now... just take your oil with you and have it changed when you get back , i dout youll even have to put any more in

Nothing's cracked or that mate I take care of my car when something brakes it gets fixed, just think it's mad how I put Castrol in it and it eats the oil, I put asda crap in and it's sweet as a nut, and to be honest not got the spare cash to be thrown away just now, need Al my spending money, she can get a good proper drink of real oil when I get home, she will last oil crap stuff just now lol
don't bother with expensive oil , £30 will get you some perfectly fine 5L of oil from

it seems for a tuned car 5w40 for tuned cars as it will stay slightly thicker than 5w30 as more power = more heat
I just use 5w30 and at 155k miles with NO problems engine wise, I just change my oil once or twice a year

if I didn't already have some of the Castrol you have in my boot lol , id buy some of that my self as im going away on Friday my self and ive not done an oil change in a while so its due one
I might remove the sump tomorrow and give the pick up pipe a clean as I was suppose to do it 18 months ago but couldn't be bothered haha, ye I think I will actually might as well why im off work , clean the sump and check all other fluids
