Hi folks I have a 54 plate 2lt tdi and I am about 3 weeks off needing a 60,000 mile service.
Now the stealer tells me I have to expect a bill around £600 notes, I know that they do a cambelt with the 60,000 service but is this £600 notes normal.

I emailed Wilmoths dealers in Hastings to enquire about a service at 60,000 miles they quoted me £200 and £160 for a new cambelt. Admittedly mines only an Arosa but, you could try emailing other Seat dealers to see if the estimate you have been given is consistent.

Dont just consider Seat to service your car, i found Skoda gave me the best quote by far.

Hi
Tab,GreenGoddess

Thanks for the ideas my local Skoda dealer is pants and a waste of time and the VW dealer is the same company who owns the Seat dealership, they charge even more.

Can I take it that due to the lake of response one else has yet too have a 60,000 mile service?

I wouldn't necessarily say that, it could be that not many people have looked at this thread as its in the Altea section of the forum ??

60,000 miles on a 54 plate. That's a heck of a lot of mileage! just out of interest have you had any problems or niggles with it? I'm asking just so the rest of us can look out for what's to possably come, and your probarbly the best person to ask after covering such milage.

Thats a big wedge of money mate. I get my car done at Fleet Repair Center in Havant and get very good rates. If you work on the Langstone Technology park you get a discount too!

I wouldn't go back near a stealer now and would always always go to a decent independent/specialist. As long as they are VAT registered and use genuine parts you will maintain your warranty.

Also try JKM which is near Kings Seat
