I fiddled with this for ages earlier and couldn't get it to work. The best I managed was to change from celcius to farenheit and back.
My car doesn't have to in-dash multi-parameter thing I saw in the manual if that makes a difference.

i think u might have had it when it seems to change to celcius. it goes from say 72.F to 1C. 1C being the the first item on the menu

i looked at mine for ages trying to figure it out only to realise i was reading it wrong. Ive now fully changed it to celsius and have driven around with the digital speedo lol

mine works everytime.....51 plate LC

Meh played around with this again last night and today without any success. I think this must require a Youtube video guide or something :D lol
I can't see that it possibly works on all models as I should have done it by accident by now!

Just tried this on my car and its a seat leon cupra and it works fine.very easy to do,had to have the engine running though. if you havent tried it with the engine running, try it doing that way.
Its quite cool with your speedo on the climate control etc lol

i just tried this on my car it worked fine after a couple minutes of playing around. would have helped if speed was in mph! dunno why the speedo says a higher speed than the climate control tho unless they do that to reduce speeding or something

it is to reduce speed, to date i havent seen a factory car with the exact speed from the wheels on the dash, if you check the cars speed to a satnav system its normally around 5 mph out. i exect its just to help reduce speeding.

unless someone proves me wrong!

Like you say as far as i'm aware it is to stop a speeding offence being blamed on the manufacturer it's a lot easier to exagerate the speedo slightly, so if the person speeds it was clearly indicated and no fingers can be pointed to the car maker :)
