So basically if you have a tunning box it would be possible to fail the MOT!!

yep, when i had mine on, before its first MOT i unplugged it and did a 20 min run with some hard blasts to clear it out but it still needed a ton of injector cleaner and a blast round the block to get it to just scrape through the emmisions. I took it off a few months later and have never had any probs at my MOTs now.

The first MOT tester commented that it was strange this one was so hard to get through/ right on the limit, i didnt tell him i had a box on before.

mike - yeah had it when i moved up from devon, but promptly sold on before their value plumeted luckily. mainly cause of the MOT problems and also it made the car use more fuel cause i had it on max all the time ;) Still, allowed me to keep up with a new A3 2.0 TDI (140bhp) though, which was a laugh at the time!

Heyd - Simon from upsolute can travel to you, so its even more convenient, and upsolute is the best for non PDs ;)

Cheers mate for letting me know.
I have started to budget for a remap now.
I am glad to here that he will give me a new ecu which means that i can keep my old one!
The only problem is, that he is in York which is about a 5-6 hours drive from my place in Somerset, mind you the price does sound good.
If i can't find anything else around the same price here then a trip up there might be an option.
