Hi guys got my Leon TFSI must say i do like it, miss the power of my last car though :(. I know theres different engine maps on these TFSI engines. Is the 185bhp forged pistons and rods like the cupra? so a simple remap will make it go up to the near 240bhp? ive been talking to a few people who say the 185 sport has a smaller downpipe from the turbo to keep the bhp down, this true?

Cheers

Hi Nath,

I also have a tfsi sport! Revo claim that it'll make 255bhp on s1! However DanGB did mention something about some sort of restriction in the zorst! I'm running revo stage 1 atm! I haven't had it rolling roaded...yet. So in answer to your question i don't know but if revo claim 255bhp it can't be far off can it?!? I'm toying with getting it rolling roaded soon for insurance purposes (currently insured for 255 bhp- however i know it must at least be a little less than this!!!) I'll let you know what stage 1 makes in a few weeks mucka (albeit with a forge twintake)

255 on a S1 remap! I thought these engines run on the KO3 turbo which maxs out at about 250-260 i know this cause my corsa vxr was 250bhp and the turbo starts to run out of puff, unless the tfsi sport runs the KO4 any one confirm this?

Thanks for the replys

As far as I know they are a K03 turbo. . .Think 255 may be a tad optimistic, but a remap does completely transform the car!
If you go ahead with one you will not regret it, anybody on here will agree :)

I suppose if you were to do some other modifications you would be able to to get round about that figure, maybe even a bit more with stage 2, 2+ software. . .

I will defo be wanting to do a remap on the car, wish it was runningn the KO4 as soon as you hit 250 with the KO3 its at max power and wont last long, i wonder if you can just buy the 200bhp sport downpipe and replace it for the smaller downpipe that the 185 has.

Whats the best visual mods for these as i dont have the bttc kit on mine would of loved it but misses didnt see it as a family car, and front splitters or roof spoiler that will suit the Leon.

I do remember reading back when the FR replaced the TFSI Sport, that the beyond the cosmetic, the only real difference was the rear box on the exhaust which is slightly restricted on the Sport, otherwise they both have the identical BWA engine. As already mentioned, DanGB will be the man with the answers.

Sport 2.0TFSi uses the same BWA engine and K03s turbo as the FR 2.0TFSi.

Any gains listed for the FR will also apply to the Sport plus the 15bhp differential because the difference between the Sport TFSi and FR TFSi is ECU coding.

To answer your question, it hast cast pistons.

And yes like someone said there was a slightly restriction on the exhasut we found going into the backbox.

Thanks for the reply, so does anyone know the max the cast pistons can take untill you have to go forged.

Not sure on the Sport but I know with the FR is that the K04 conversion is realy just Injectors, Turbo and BOV relocation.

In response to the K03 running out of puff, the uprated fuel pump sorts that one out :D

K03s ain't as strong as the K04...but yea it will still run out of puff (@top end)
the uprated fuel pump will help but mostly for mid-range :)

I find I generally change gear when thrashing at around 5500rpm which is where my graph shows the torque to start dropping off

What is your STG2+ running Dave?
