ABS/TCS Warning Light - Wierd Problem

Hello,

First post on here and I could use a bit of advice as I know nothing about cars apart from driving them!

I drive an 04 Ibiza Cupra TDI with 70k on the clock and recently the TCS/ABS warning light has been coming on but wierdly only after exactly 10 minutes from turning the engine on.

If I turn the engine off and on again the warning light goes out but comes back after 10 minutes. I have not noticed any performance difference or strange noises that I can remember.

I had a diagnosis run by an VW Group specialist garage and they found the following but didn't know what to do:

17911 - DF Alternator Term Implausible Signal
18265 - Load Signal Error Message to ECU.

Any thoughts, help would be appreciated!

Cheers,

Arnie

You have a broken wire coming from your alternator.

Follow the wiring back, and you'll find it passes through a connector block on the front of the gearbox.
One of the wires will have broken here.
You can either try and repair the connection, or just bypass the connector and solder the wires together (like I did).

Bet you a tenner I'm right !
