Hi Guys,
I have an Ibiza 6L 2008 and I have one BIG concern...as I bought myself some OEM headlights....without the D1S lightbulbs. Now, the light is produced by some h1 HID bulb....but I cannot see anything in the night, as the light is extremely poor..I found some D1S bulbs to buy...and now I don;t know if I can use or can adapt the HID's ballasts to these D1S bulbs:cry:.

I called some people that do sell hid kits and all sort of headlamps...they say can't use the actual ballasts for D1S bulbs.

Do you have any ideas how can I still use these ballasts? D1S ballasts are quite expensive....not to mention the price for the light bulbs.

Any ideea or advice would mean a lot.

thanks

Yeah...the price is not that big, but I want to keep the investment at a minimum, as I do have 4 normal ballasts.

Not sure what you mean here,

The OEM light units you now have are made for D1S xenon lamps? Or for H1 halogen lamps?

A. If you mean they are made for H1 halogen lamps, then the best light you will get is a combination of an aftermarket balast with an afetmarket H1-xenon bulb, preferably in color 4000 to 6000K. That will give you the most possible light from that light unit IF INSTALLED AND ALLIGNED CORRECTLY!

B. If you mean you bought OEM units made for OEM D1S xenon bulbs, then the best light you will get is from OSRAM D1S COOL BLUE INTENSE 5000K bulbs. They have the ballasts glued to the lamp so no choice of ballast possible. That will give you the most possible light from that light unit IF INSTALLED AND ALLIGNED CORRECTLY!

Think that should be quite clear?

A side mark: the OEM xenons spread the light very wide horizontally BUT have a very sharp line where the light ends vertically, whilst aftermarket xenons tend to shine in spots and blobs of light all over the place, this CAN in some cases give the impression that you have less light with the OEM lights.

Thank you very much my friend.
I do have OEM headlights made for D1S lamps.

I finally managed to find a reasonable price for ballasts plus bulbs. No brand name , some chinese stuffs :)), but at leas I have 2 yr warranty. The bulbs are 4300K colored...and will see this saturday how they will shine!
I noticed that difference between OEM and aftermarket headlights as in the past I owned some Daylines from Dectane.
Thanks once again.
