Advice needed to wire up gauges

I have done a search but most of the results refer to leons. I cant seem to find anything for the mk4 petrol. Its matching the colours thats the problem at the mo. can anybody help?

I took the feed for my boost gauge off the head unit power cables, its so much easyer.

iirc, off the top of my head - red = switched live, yellow = perminent live and black = negative.

That what I did also.

Or you can get a switched live off the fuse box. Just splice into the back wire of fuse 18. Its the middle columb third down of the small fuses. I did this to wire up my cruise controll, and was realy simple.

I am still unsure what wire is which at the back of the HU.. the colurs you explain above is this the HU loom colours?

also would the same colour of wires be the same behind the head light switch? as on the HU loom?

Earth is normaly black or brown but I cant be 100% which one it is unless I'm looking at it with a multimeter in my hand.

No, it isn't the same.

I just used 3-way scotch locks to take a feed from the ISO loom
