245/40/18 won't do, the total diameter of the wheel will be a whole 16mm bigger, your speedo will be off about 2,5% and you'll probably not be able to fit them in the wings. Besides, to fit a tyre so wide you'll need at least an 8,5 inches wide rim.

You don't live or work near Dukinfield do you? I don't know why i think that but i'm sure I remember a silver leon with rs4 wheels when i glanced down a side road in that area!

Those gti wheels look great, i've seen some 18"s on ebay with tyres for about £475. After seeing those pics i think i'll be raping the old credit card!!! I presune they won't look that different on 18"s
